At PCMH, workforce development is a top priority. The aim is to better equip Colorado’s workforce with the knowledge and resources to improve mental health outcomes through training, coaching, and technical assistance. We’re excited to have Paige Backlund Jarquín, DrPH, MPH join our team as Training Director and drive this work moving forward.
Dr. Backlund Jarquín will lead PCMH’s team of professional trainers in stewarding the effective implementation of evidence-based and promising practices in child and youth mental health with professionals throughout the state. She brings over 20 years of experience in community-based initiatives, extensive knowledge in youth systems development and innovation, and training as a researcher in community and behavioral health.
Before joining PCMH, Dr. Backlund Jarquín worked with several state-wide initiatives, including the Regional Health Connector Program with the Colorado Health Institute, the Community Engagement and Research Core at the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, and in Youth Systems Development with statewide partners – including the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment. She received a Master’s in Public Health and a Doctor of Public Health degree from the Colorado School of Public Health.
When she’s not finding new ways to engage participants in a virtual setting, you can find her hanging out with the chickens in her backyard farm with her partner and their two kids.
If you’d like to send Dr. Backlund Jarquín a warm welcome or start a conversation about ways to collaborate, you can reach her at paige@pcmh.org.
