Introduction to Providing Gender Affirming Care to Gender Diverse Youth
This training introduces practical ways to provide gender-affirming and competent care for transgender and gender diverse (TGD) youth. We will review gender diversity as a construct, review terminology, recognize disparities and barriers to care, and provide applicable skills for working with TGD youth and their families. Participants will learn best practices informed by The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
This course is the first in a two-part series, and we encourage participants to also attend our advanced course, which will build on the learnings in this course. If you already have a basic understand of gender affirming and competent care for TGD youth, you are welcome to start with the advanced course.
